The Cherries Trust Links Up with Talking Cherries
to Help Fund Mental Health Training.

The Cherries Trust is excited today to announce that we are working with Talking Cherries to help them fundraise to renew their Mental Health First Aid Certificates.

We will be pledging £250.00 towards this fund ourselves to start it off with a bang, and we will also be taking all facilitating all further donations on their behalf. This donation is the first of what we hope to be many, as we launch our community donation scheme.

Talking Cherries is a mental health initiative set up by the fans, for the fans. The group has regular meetups via Zoom and in person events and use football as a common conversation point to allow people to talk safely and freely around all topics, and have gone from strength to strength.

Upon hearing of the donation from the Cherries Trust, Talking Cherries founder, Simon Kay said, "We're honoured to have the support of the Cherries Trust as we look to raise funds for updated mental health first aid training for our team. As a small fans group looking to make a difference in our community, the Trust is not only helping us with the administration but getting us started with a donation of £250! Speaking on the scheme, Cherries Trust Community Champion, Heather Hoggatt, said "There are many active groups and charities that do some incredible work within the local community. Many of these groups are not for profit organisations and rely on generosity of others for donations, which enable them to continue this fantastic work. This donation is only the start of what we hope to achieve within the coming months with exposure and donations to those who we think would benefit."
